Billing & Insurance

Texas and federal law protect patients who seek emergency care. Coverage is based on your symptoms as a reasonable person would judge them — not on the final diagnosis — so you do not have to be certain it is an emergency before coming in. Come in first; we will work through the billing with you afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions

What insurance does Bellaire ER accept?

Bellaire ER is a freestanding emergency room and, per our posted facility notice, an out-of-network provider for all health benefit plans. That affects billing, not whether we treat you. For emergency services, federal law caps your cost sharing at in-network amounts and bars balance billing; your deductible, copay, and coinsurance still apply. To confirm how your plan processes a claim, call the member services number on your insurance card. We are committed to working with you on billing questions.

Does Bellaire ER offer self-pay pricing?

Yes. We can discuss self-pay costs with you before treatment when possible, and our default fee schedules are available on request. Uninsured patients also have separate federal protections, including good-faith estimates. Please ask our staff about payment options — but never delay care for a true emergency to sort out payment first.

Will I receive separate bills from the facility and the physician?

Yes. The physician providing medical care at this facility may bill separately from the facility for the medical care provided to a patient. You may receive separate statements for facility charges and physician professional fees.
